Colin R. Bowdidge was educated at the University of Cambridge, where he received an M.A. degree in mineralogy and petrology, and at the University of Edinburgh, where he earned a Ph.D. in geology. He is a registered Professional Geoscientist with the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario and a Registered Professional Geologist with the Northwest Territories and Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geologists. He has worked in mineral exploration for 40 years, primarily in Canada, but including projects in the U.S.A., Africa, South America and Europe.
After working for major companies (Cerro Mining Corporation and Union Minière) for five years, Mr. Bowdidge became a consulting geologist, which has been his principal occupation since 1974. His experience has covered exploration and development projects for a wide variety of mineral commodities: precious metals (gold, silver and platinum-group metals), base metals (nickel-copper magmatic type, copper-zinc volcanogenic type, lead-zinc vein type), uranium, ferrous metals (iron ore, titanium) and industrial minerals (talc, tremolite, wollastonite, graphite, garnet, muscovite, kyanite, barite).
With a thorough knowledge of applied geology as it relates to mineral exploration, Mr. Bowdidge also has extensive hands-on experience in modern geophysical and geochemical exploration techniques. The majority of his experience has been in the Canadian Shield where a long and complex history of metamorphism and deformation requires careful observation and skilful interpretation to unravel geological environments and their effect on mineralization.
Exploration successes that Mr. Bowdidge has been instrumental in include the single-handed discovery of the Olden wollastonite deposit on southern Ontario, the discovery of the multi-million-pound, low-grade Lac Kachiwiss uranium deposit in Québec, and the recognition of the bulk-mining potential of the Surluga gold deposit in northern Ontario.
In addition to exploration projects, Mr. Bowdidge has been involved in the development of several mines: the Pinebay copper mine in Manitoba, the Thierry nickel-copper mine in northwest Ontario, the Cerro Mojon gold mine in Nicaragua and the San Andres gold mine in Honduras.
Mr. Bowdidge has served, and continues to serve, as a director and/or officer of several publicly traded mining and exploration companies.
As the President of C2C Advocates Inc. since 2010 and as the Principal of Paulin Consulting from 2005 until 2010; Mr. Paulin has provided First Nations advocacy services and has been actively involved in consulting on economic development in Northern Ontario. Most importantly, this includes facilitating negotiations between proponents and First Nations regarding mineral exploration and mine development. In conjunction with his economic development work, Mr. Paulin’s company also provides winter road and air transportation services; delivering supplies and access to vital services on behalf of remote communities.
Mr. Paulin originally developed his transportation business as the co-founder and operator of North American Charters (2002-2005) based in Thunder Bay, ON. This company provided non-scheduled passenger and freight transportation services focusing primarily on servicing Northern Ontario. In his consulting capacity, Mr. Paulin took a leadership role in the consultation process that led to MRI (now a subsidiary of Trincan Capital Corp [TRN-X]) - and its various partners (AMCL and TRI) in the Tashota Gold Project - entering into an Exploration Agreement with the two affected First Nations in 2011.
